Whether out in the blind or sitting in the living room, we all want a dog that we can be proud to call our own. The main goal of Central Valley Gun Dogs is to help develop dogs that are just that. We offer training in basic obedience, duck hunting, upland game hunting, and handling. We work to develop each dog into the best it can be, while maintaining its natural personality. Many of our dogs are also quite successful in hunt test competitions. So no matter if you are looking for a house companion, a great hunting partner, or the next master national hunter, Central Valley Gun Dogs can help you and your dog achieve your goals.

Because we understand there are only so many hours in a day we are NOT a mega-kennel. Unlike other kennels with 18 or more dogs, we keep only 12 dogs at a time in order to make sure each dog gets the time and attention that is vital for a successful gundog. Our kennels are also right on our property where the dogs can be looked after 24/7. If there is a problem or a client wants to visit we are on “duty” all the time.

I have been around dogs all of my life. I grew up at a hunt club working with pointers but always had a lab. I trained all of my own dogs until college. During college I sent my dog to a pro that not only developed my dog but me as well. I began working for this professional until I left in 2001 and started Central Valley Gun Dogs.

With a teaching background, training dogs is second nature. As an avid water fowler I know exactly what kind of dog I want to hunt with. All of us want to be invited on the hunt and told to make sure we bring our dog. This is the type of dog we strive to train, making the hunt enjoyable and rewarding.
